The task was to design an object in the rooftop of collective habitation in Cologne, in order to increase the appartment top area, bring more light to the under floor, link the apartment to the roof terrace and also transform the terrace in a pleasant place. The first idea was to take this object in a stream direction, design a parasite that got stuck in the roof top of the building. After exploring different ideas and forms, the final direction was to project a dark wood box with thin light/windows openings, higher than the roof top. In this way the dwellers could enjoy the skyline the south part of the city as well as the sighting to the cathedral.
